Meet the Team

Neil Habig is the primary contact for Galloo Island Wind. Neil has been an accomplished wind developer in the Northeast for the past several years, having developed multiple projects in New England and New York, including several that are now in operation. He has worked in the wind industry for the past 12 years, initially with Clipper, then with Atlantic Renewable Energy Corporation, and later with Iberdrola Renewables. During this time, he built, developed, or managed over 1,000 MW of wind projects. Prior to his career in wind, Neil managed and developed undersea cable projects in the communications industry.

“I am excited to be working on this unique island project. New York has led and continues to lead with a vision for expanding renewable energy in the Empire State, and I am glad to be a part of it.”

— Neil Habig

Danielle Simmons is a Development Intern for the Galloo Island Wind project. Danielle interned with Apex Clean Energy last summer and is back this summer to help with the public relations in the towns surrounding Galloo Island. She also manages the office in Sackets Harbor for the project. Danielle is a local resident from Henderson, NY and she is currently a student at Paul Smith’s College where she studies Natural Resource Conservation Management.

“I want to help make the world a more environmentally conscious place to live and I believe that renewable energy is a great way to do that. I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to implement some of these beliefs into my community as a part of this wind project.”
